This is the week. My baby girl will be 1 on Thursday. I can’t believe it has already been a year!!! I feel like I haven’t taken enough pictures, caught enough on camera. Why can’t they stay little just a while longer?! My mom told me that when she brought my sister home from the hospital she cried because she was going to be 18 one day. As crazy as that sounds. I know why she cried! So, even though I am not ready for her to be one yet, I am planning an adorable birthday party for her!
I know there are like a billion tutorials out there for fabric banners, but this is how I did it : )

Supplies
(this makes 10 double sided “flags”) – Adjust as you need for the length you need.
-Small amount of coordinating fabric (2 6×18″ rectanges on the fold or 4 6×18″ rectangles)
-Rotary cutter and mat and/or scissors
-thread
-sewing machine
-single fold bias tape (I used one package for my banner and it was the perfect amount)

1. Cut out your 6×18″ rectangles. I like to cut mine on the fold, it just makes it a little easier, but you don’t have to.
2. Once you have that cut out. Measure along the top every six inches. Then on the bottom measure in 3 inches and from there measure every 6 inches (you will end up with 3 inches on each side).
3. Draw lines connecting the dots on the diagonal

4. Cut along your lines using a rotary cutter if you have one, or you can use scissors. This gives you 5 triangles or “flags”. With pretty fabric on both sides. If you are hanging this on a wall and only want it one sided, well then you have 10 traingles : )
Do this until you have the number of flags you desire
5. Next open up your Bias tape… this is what the package looks like if you’ve never used it before.
and you are going to press it in half, it will make sense when you open it : )
6. Once it is pressed I left some extra on the ends for tieing and then started marking every 9″. I started each flag every 9″.
7. Sew the flag in between the bias like a sandwich. Keep sewing until you get to your next mark and add a flag… keep going until you’re done, and make sure and leave some extra on the other end.
And you’re DONE : ) Super duper easy huh?
