Superhero Comic Book Letters

Share

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! I have been super occupied getting my blog together. Doing the design myself has been super time consuming. I don’t know how these women do it for multiple blogs!
I took a little break from Addison’s party planning (even though I am so behind now) to work on my son’s room! I started these letters oh… like a year ago. Aubrey and I finally finished them!

Mod Podge Superhero Letters using old comic books via cherishedbliss.com

These letters were seriously the hardest thing EVER to photograph. It’s rainy today and Aubrey’s room doesn’t exactly get a lot of natural light so it just wasn’t pretty when I photographed them in there. It just wasn’t working for me. But the letters turned out so fun! Aubrey LOVES them!
Earlier I took them off the wall to take them outside to photograph.. he was so concerned about his name. So cute!

Modge Podge Superhero Letters

These are so easy to make, and great if you want to get your little on involved!

{Here’s what I did}

-Bought the letters from Hobby Lobby
-Got some old superhero comic books together and cut them up
-Used Modge Podge to apply the comic books papers to the letters

Then I hung the letters using the command Velcro strips

I only used one on each letter since they are so light and it has worked for me : )

Aubrey had so much fun making these and playing in the modge podge. I’m not sure if he had more fun painting it on, or peeling it off his hands when we were done! : )

Next thing I have planned for his room is a superhero quilt. Hoping to have that done by the end of summer! Don’t hold me to it though : )

  1. These letters are awesome! And different than any others that I have seen before. Most letters I have seen just don’t screeam “BOY!” to me, but these definitely do. I will keep this in mind when my hubby and I begin our family. Great job!

    • Thank you so much! Anything boy is difficult for me. Give me fabric ruffles any day. Boys make you think.. both in life and in decorations, haha : )

  2. That has to one of the coolest things ive seen for a boys room! I lov it!

    • Thank you! My son would agree.. or course I think it’s more batman and superman that he’s excited about, I can pretend it was my efforts though : )

  3. Those are super cool, way to go mama!!

  5. OMGoodness, those turned out sooooo cute! I bet Aubrey is very proud of his awesome Mama!

  6. Hi Ashley – I love these letters. Something a boy would love – totally. We are so used to seeing all the sweet letters – pick, damasked, glittered etc – it’s nice to see something different.

I signed up for your link party…

I am switching to WordPress…I know you love it. Do you see any difference in how you post? I admit that’s the one thing I’m scared of? Any other difference that you can see? Let me know.

    Thanks again for hosting!

    • Thanks so much Linda! So glad to have you at the party : )

I use windows live writer for all my posts actually so it didn’t change that much. As for differences, there are quite a lot. It is a whole new game, but it’s not too hard to figure out. The difficult things I ran into were designing the blog myself and altering the appearance of the blog itself. As far as arranging your widgets and the layout, its not bad at all! When you make the switch let me know if you have any questions! I had a lot of people help me so I’d love to pass along what I have learned! Have a great day!

  7. Those are so cool!! They would be perfect in my boys’ room. I have several “comic book covers” (actually a calendar) that I framed in their room, just posted about it last week, too. :)

    • I saw those! I bought some pictures from etsy a while back I need to hang. They are little lego looking superhero guys. I feel like I live on superhero planet sometimes!
