I am so excited to bring this tutorial to you today!
I am officially closing my etsy store.
Kinda sad, but good for you, because all my patterns in it are now FREE. : )
I enjoy blogging much more than running my etsy shop and something just had to go, I figure this is a win win for everyone right?
Vintage Inspired Baby Headband Tutorial
This was my very first pattern to ever make, so it’s kind of special to me! : )
I have to give a HUGE shout out to Traci Ryant for all these beautiful babies, she is my all time favorite newborn photographer!
Not to mention super sweet and pretty much just plain AWESOME! So make sure and stop by her page for some beautiful inspiration!
This pattern is not difficult to make at all! There is a little hand sewing, but it’s not hard, I promise ; )
Plus I give you step by step pictures of the entire process in making this headband! Anyone can do it!
In the pattern a list of supplies is provided for you as well as how to make this in each size!
I have to say, I kinda want another girl looking at all these pictures! They are oh so fun to play dress up with!
Just to give you a little idea of what else you can do with this pattern, here is a custom order I made for a flower girl in pink and grey.
I know I know, it’s way more gorgeous on a cute little newborn head, but at least you can see a close up right? Sadly my daughter would never wear headbands once she figured out where her hands were. So I just got to make them for other little girls who would!
So now that the parade of beautiful babies is over, are you ready to make one? I have it in a google document since this one is kind of a long pattern with lots of pictures!
This Pattern is for personal use only! Please do not sell items made using this pattern. Please always link back when using this pattern for personal use. For a limited usage License please contact me. You may not alter, change, or distribute this pattern!

Hello there, just became alert to your blog through Google,
and found that it is truly informative. I’m going to watch out for brussels. I will appreciate if you continue this in future. A lot of people will be benefited from your writing. Cheers!
I live in Caiazzo, Italia and my work in fact deals with this area.
Actually doing what you like and writing about it in such a quality way is a great gift.
Your writing is informative, illuminating, and passion-driven,
all of which I profoundly respect when dealing with this
topic.
I do not know if it’s just me or if everybody else encountering issues with your site. It seems like some of the text within your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them as well? This may be a problem with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen before.
Thanks
This is adorable. I’m expecting first granddaughter and would love to make one of these. I tried downloading the pattern and was unable. Could you please email it to me? Thank you!
I’m not sure what the problem would be, you do need a PDF reader to view it, but that is a free download. Here is the direct link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4zpKJkZ_bv0bEVSd0dfM0lzMVU/edit?usp=sharing Let me know if that doesn’t work for you. Thanks!
Hello friends, pleasant post and good urging commented here,
I am really enjoying by these.
Thank you for this tutorial. I will be making this for my granddaughter’s first birthday. So nice of you to post it!
Oh my! You are so talented! It is a pity you had to close the Etsy shop. I also have a small online store selling baby headbands and baby hair clips so I know how much time it can take up! But it is also very satisfying when you have finished making a beautiful budle of headbands for a little bany girl. Good luck with the blogging. Reallylovely site. x
Wow, thanks so much for sharing this pattern. I shoot newborn photography, so I am all for trying to save some money and make my own props. Thanks again and good luck with your blog.
My pleasure Linda! I would love to see any pictures of what you make with the pattern : ) Have a great week!
Just to let you know, I featured your wonderful project on homework today. Thanks so much for sharing it at my link party

We are expecting are first little girl any day now and I am CRAZY about all things headbands. Thank you for the tutorial; I will be getting my crafty on here soon!
Yay! Congrats on your precious little bundle!! I would love to see how it turns out!! : )
I made this today for my upcoming newborn daughter to wear during family pictures…it turned out adorable and durable! The directions were very clear and easy to follow. It is such a cute design- thanks so much for sharing!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, they look so beautiful, vintage chic at its best! I think they would be great for a little girl to maybe wear with their bridesmaid outfit? I wonder if anyone has tried this? The photos are gorgeous as well btw – the little baby girl wearing that headband with eyes closed is just the cutest! I was really interested to read that you stopped selling on ETSY to focus on blogging – how do you find this? Has anyone else gone down this route? I’m a mummypreneur as well and run a small online shop selling Baby Hair Clips – please check us out, we’d love to hear from you x
I loved all your tips. We did those exact things with our daughter and she slept through the night by 7/8weeks old. The only time we ever varied stuff was during growth spurts. It was so nice to know that if she was actually crying in her crib at night something was wrong since she was such a good sleeper. I know that a lot of people are anti babywise, but it does make me sad when people don’t read the information in the book. Everything needs to be fit to your family and child, but they have such great guidelines in there. Thanks again! For more visit vakn.com
Wow, what an amazing experience. I would love to visit Bethlehem one day. If The Vatican moved me, I’m sure this experience would too. Such beautiful photos from your visit. Maybe one day I’ll get there – in the meantime, my travel companion thinks the middle east is off limits for safety reasons.baby ratings
I am a kid so I cat go to the store I also can’t sew very well. I had a hard time and decided to give up. I love to craft and was going to make it for my friend’s baby sister so I wish that this was more kid-friendly. I do love the look of it though and hope that you have a great day!!! :)
