Last week I shared this over at The CSI Project during the “Projects you have pinned” week!
How He loves is probably one of my favorite songs. My husband is a worship leader and he does such a great job with this song! I love hearing him sing it! It’s probably one of his favorites to sing as well!
I just love the lyrics and the inspiration of the song!
“How He Loves Us” Printable and Wooden Block Art
I originally saw this idea on Shanty 2 Chic. I pinned it immediately and knew exactly what I wanted to put on there! Here is their version
I chose the lyrics from David Crowder’s “How He Loves Us” which was originally written by John Mark McMillan. John Mark’s version actually says “and Heaven meets Earth like a sloppy wet kiss” and while I actually prefer his version of the song, that just didn’t seem like it would be pretty to read walking through the house. Anyways, my husband is a worship leader and this is one of his favorite songs to sing, and it is one my favorite songs that he sings…. and I have always loved that part of the song, so thus why I chose these lyrics. : )
Here is how I made my version
{Supplies}
– 2×6 wood scrap (mine measures 6×9”
– scrapbook paper
– modge podge
– foam brush
– this printable
– 2×6 wood scrap (mine measures 6×9”
– scrapbook paper
– modge podge
– foam brush
– this printable
{Tutorial}
1. Cut your wood piece out to the size you wish. Mine is 6×9”. Then stain or paint it the color you want.
2. Then print out the printable onto scrapbook paper of your choice. The printable is 6×9” as well, I just cut on the inside of the border so that the wood showed behind the paper.
3.Once you cut it out, using your foam brush, paint a layer of the modge podge on the wood block, then lay your paper on top of it. Smooth out any bubbles and let dry a few minutes. Then paint another layer on top of the paper to seal it.
4. Let dry and you can do a second coat if you want, I just did the one though.
Easy right? And you can make any printable you want, I made mine in picnik (which I am so sad to see go)
Have a beautiful day!
Tomorrow is my birthday and I was hoping to have a big celebration, but I didn’t know I was going to be out of town until a little before. But I have a few giveaways for you when I get home!

This turned out so sweet! Love it and I making one very, very soon :)
Happy birthday. Great post and project.
This is one of my most favorite worship songs ever! My daughter went to Africa on a mission trip 2 summers ago and this was one of her team songs. The last night in Malawi her and her team sang this with a guitar in the dark (one of the kids recorded it on their phones). I was so moving and I cried just watching a black screen filled with teens singing this song to our Lord.. amazing. I think I will do this for her to put in her room.. Thank you for sharing. I will pin it so I can reference it.. thanks again!
This is absolutely gorgeous! Love the printable, love the sign…want to hear the song. Thanks for sharing at Shine on Fridays!! Lovely.
I played the song on YouTube and realize we'd done it in church a few weeks back and I didn't know what it was called! Thanks!! I'm featuring this tomorrow on One Artsy Mama at Shine on Fridays!
That's lovely! (Though the nit-picky part of my brain points out that that is not actually a scripture verse, but whatever. Still uplifting)
try ipiccy.com or picmonkey.com instead of picnik. picmonkey is especially great – it's being put together by some of the people who originally made picnik in the first place
I really like this. Thank you for the very easy to follow tutorial.
