I can’t seem to get the kitchen off my mind. Ever since we moved to this house back in August I have known that I wanted the kitchen to be my first big project. It’s finally warm enough outside, but now it just won’t stop raining. I am chomping at the bits to disassemble my kitchen! So I’m pressing on with some accessories! Today I bring you these Wood Burned Spoons.
I can’t even express how easy this is. You might have to run to the store if you don’t have a wood burning tool on hand, but it is so worth it! I bought mine from Hobby Lobby, and with the 40% off coupon it’s less than $10! If you already have one, you are good to go! I have 4 drawers in my kitchen, and the one little itty bitty drawer. I don’t know about you, but I personally LOVE drawers. I would rather have more drawers than lower cabinets. I also prefer to not have much on my counter tops (because I don’t have much space there either), but my cooking utensils are just going to have to go on the counter, so I figured they should at least be awesome if they need to be displayed!
So I decided to put some fun kitchen related words on the handles.
I don’t have pictures for the tutorial, because somehow operating a tool that is hot enough to burn a hole through my finger didn’t seem like one of my smartest ideas ; ) But if you can write with a pencil, you can do this!
Supplies:
Wood burning tool (found on the unfinished wood aisle at Hobby Lobby)
Wooden Spoons
Pencil
How to make DIY Wood Burned Spoons
1. Take your spoons and write in pencil the words of your choice.
2. Plug in your wood burning tool according to the directions on your specific model. Please take all necessary precautions while using this tool, it is dangerous!
3. Use your tool to trace over your pencil markings. Fill in any gaps and go over the lines until your desired look is achieved.
Now you just have to start cooking ; )
So what do you think? Do you like the look of burned wood? Anytime I get a new toy I want to use it on everything. Watch out kitchen chairs!

super cute!! I love wooden spoons and these are perfect! Would make a great gift! Pinned!
Love this! Are the wood-burning tools expensive? And do you think it would work on a larger display of wood? Thinking of making some hanging art decor, and would love to draw and “burn” in a scene of “birds on a wire” if possible!
Love love this Ashely!
Thanks Taryn : )

Last summer, we went on a trip to Miami Beach with four friends. I rented the car there to sit. The ren car was perfect, so I enjoyed the ride. We have benefited a lot by renting a car. We paid the rent using a credit card.
