As you know I am getting ready for a pretty big kitchen remodel. I will be refacing all my cabinet doors, painting, installing new counter tops, sink, faucet, hopefully some lighting, and well… I have a very limited budget, so I am excited to share with you how I plan on accomplishing this! I even created a hashtag so you can follow along with the progress ; ) I just know you love me that much right? So be sure and follow me on instagram cause that’s where I post most of my project progressions.
I will be doing shaker style cabinets, and these look so clean and fresh. The pops of yellow just make me plain happy!
I love the overall style of this next one! I wish I could have open shelving on the top, but let’s be realistic here….. I use my cabinets to hide things, lots and lots of things!
Not only is this kitchen the color of my accent wall in the kitchen/dining room, I love the chalkboard with the gold chair. This was one of my inspiration for the color of my gallery wall. I also really love the dark hardware with the light cabinets. I’m so torn between dark hardware and brushed nickel. What are your thoughts on that?
I love the dark hardware of the last picture, but the hardware on the doors… I love it! Where we live most of the houses were built in the earlier half of the 20th century, so they would fit in perfect here. Plus I love old things! The other plus, it would be harder for Adam’s little hands to open up the cabinets. ; )
I think this is my favorite hardware, it combines the dark with the old vintage look, but oh there are so many choices out there! What is a girl to do??
I just love the kitchen from the Lily Pad cottage. My layout is totally different, but I love that she incorporated open shelving, but still has cabinets with doors! And this makes me rethink the brushed nickel look!
This kitchen makes me want to sit and drink a cup of coffee all day long! Truly inspirational!
I have so many things to think about, and I need to get my kitchen done in the next 6 weeks or so (am I crazy for thinking that’s possible?). I have a list of outdoor projects I’d like to get done before it gets cold again, so I’m really going to have to push forward.
What would you do?
Dark hardware…. satin nickel?
Old style cabinet knobs, or just your regular ones?
What is your favorite kitchen here?
I love both types of hardware.. We are redoing our kitchen now and it is tiny, but the cabinets were horrible, just pressed board, Yuck. We lucked up and found some solid wood cabinets that were coming out of a let’s just say large home that went in the butler’s pantry. There was enough to do our whole kitchen with a few adjustments.. I will have room for some open shelving, I am using the polished nickel (cost) since we were not planning on doing the kitchen this year, just the porch. My son is installing them and doing the adjustments, we are using our travel trailer to cook in… so it goes. I would price both and see what you can get. I always weigh what I want in the big picture with what my budget is… and then settle. I don’t have any place to grow so it is what it is. This was one big butler’s pantry, painted a Ballard White, I will paint the bottom a soft green called Quaking Grass from Lowes.. I can hardly wait to see all you do, I read all your blogs, and I love doing and redoing my home. I am just not a blogger.. I can’t start, but I can sure talk to you… Glenna
Thanks Glenna! That is awesome you found those cabinets! I wonder what it would be like to have a butler’s pantry that big. I wouldn’t even know what to put in there, lol! I love the two toned cabinets though, I would LOVE to see pictures when you are done! Thanks for sharing with me. It’s always nice to just talk it through when you are trying to make decisions! : ) Have a great day!
Ashley I have no idea how it would fill to have a butler’s pantry that big, it was huge! I would not like to clean that house, that is why I like cottage type homes or at least no more than 2500 sq ft. There are only two of us as the kids are reared and gone, so I play most of the time. I will send pictures when we are finished…. hubby is in demolition mode today… thank goodness we have a travel trailer to cook in… Just to let you know the size I purchased 40 knobs….. I didn’t like the ones on them they were that antique coppery one and a swirl design.. I am more simple for hardware…. We are really on a tight budget, so pray for us and I will you also. you will finish before we do, we are old and slow…. I am painting the walls a very light grey so it will stay neutral… Look forward to your next blog post. Glenna
I love the dark knobs but I can’t choose which kitchen I like best decisions, decisions!
Shaker style cabinets is my favorite style of cabinets!! Love all your ideas. While the girls and I are gone to AR for vacation next week, my husband is trying to decide what reno project he wants to start. I approved them all so I guess it will be a surprise :)
Hello,
What would you call the cabinet knobs that look like a lock, i.e the bronze ones that look like they connect both glass doors in the Houzz picture and the silver ones on the top and bottom cabinets in the HGTV picture. I’d also like to know where you can buy something like that from.
Much obliged,
D
Hi there! I believe they are called “Stamped Steel Cabinet Latch” but I’m not sure if that’s the technical term. You can find them on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2Brcpnv (affiliate link). I’ve never seen them in store, so my guess is they are online only. Unless you know of a local specialty hardware shop.
You are fabulous! Thanks so much for the information.
:), D
You’re very welcome!!
