Christmas is such a busy time of year and after decorating our homes, let’s face it, we are exhausted! Today let’s talk about a few ways to host a last minute cocktail party during the holiday season.
I’ll be honest, I don’t host a lot of parties, I wish I did more often, but I have 3 little kids and a full schedule, so our social life is often pushed to the back. But every once in a while it’s fun to throw a little something fun! When I do throw a cocktail party, I don’t usually have much time to plan so here are a few of my not-so-secret secrets!
How to Host a Last Minute Cocktail Party
Make it a Cozy Gathering
Don’t feel like you have to invite the entire neighborhood, just invite a few close friends and make it a quaint gathering. This also cuts down on how much food you have to prepare and how much you spend at the store.
Use What You Have On Hand
For decorations I used what we had from our normal Christmas Decorations. I pulled a few mini fake trees, some galvanized letters spelling out JOY, and let the food shine!
Play Happy Music
Music can set the mood for any occasion. Having quiet music playing in the background is sure to put everyone in relaxing yet uplifting mood! Some of my favorite Spotify channels are Jazzy Christmas and Classical Christmas!
Prepare Simple Dishes
Don’t stress yourself out and feel like you need a complex menu. The simple classics are always everyone’s favorite. I’m a big fan of crock pot recipes because once you get that going, you have time to prepare the decorations, drinks, and any other appetizers you want to serve. I made these simple Johnsonville 3 Ingredient Meatballs alongside a simple cheese and cracker plate with Johnsonville Summer Sausage.
And because I love each and every one of you I’m going to share this easy recipe with you so you can have it as easy as I did ;)
