The Art of Knitting and Crocheting {review + GIVEAWAY}

I am so excited to introduce you to these fabulous products! When The Art of Knitting contacted me to review their children’s knitting and crocheting DVD’s I was thrilled! I know how to crochet, but I have always wanted to learn to knit! Both of these items would make FANTASTIC Christmas gifts for little ones. It is encouraging, and you are building a skill to last a lifetime!

Here is what I was sent!

When I sat down to watch these I had my 18 month old daughter with me and let’s just say she LOVED them!

Let’s talk about the Knitting DVD first!

There are 3 different ways to learn:

Ryan

First you can watch 7 year old Ryan teach from a child’s perspective! However, not only is he easy to understand but it is GREAT for adults as well! If you have a child and want to learn with them, I cannot stress how perfect this would be! My son is 3 and I think I will start working with him soon. He picked up the knitting needles and was trying to follow along and was doing rather well. He was very intrigued with Ryan.

Next there is an animated story told by Dr. Elizabeth Seward. She takes you through a story while teaching you to knit! This was my favorite : ) There are little catch phrases that you can relate to the different techniques and as I am practicing my knitting techniques I find myself repeating these to myself.

Lastly, you can follow along with Marcy Levitas Hamilton as she teaches you to how to make an easy-to-knit ball in a stitch along! This is a great way to start applying the skills you have learned! It also produces a rewarding product for kids as they learn to knit! Who doesn’t like to admire their finished product?

Now let’s talk about The Art of Crocheting 4 kids

There are 5 different ways to learn on this DVD!

First you will learn from the "Yodeling Crocheting Cowboys. This is a great way for your kiddos to start off! It is super easy to follow along with and entertaining through the whole DVD! Your kids will not get bored with this one!

Next Ryan is back and teaching us crochet! He is such a sweet little boy and my kids just love watching him! He is easy to understand and very motivating. He is working with several other kids and and makes you feel like you are sitting there with them all!

You will also learn how to make a crochet flower with Ryan in a Kids workshop! This is a great way for kids to see quick results from crocheting! It is very encouraging and makes you want to keep on going!

There are a few other things you will get to learn how to make. You will make granny squares that can be used to make blankets, shawls, and scarves! Such great gift ideas for your little one to be able to make and give away.

Then there is a sing along music video teaching you how to make a Wild West Scarf! This is so interactive and great for kids. Music really helps them to catch on quickly and keeps their interest!

    I would get the kid knit kit. I have always wanted to learn how to knit. My kiddos have been asking me to teach them how to knit or crochet. This way maybe we could all pick up a new craft together. Thanks for the fun giveaway!:)

    If I win, I would get the knitting for kids kit! It would be AWESOME if it would come before Christmas and I could use it as a Christmas gift for my daughter!!! If not, it would still make a great anytime gift!
