I am so so excited to share this with you today! To be honest this whole project took way longer than it needed to. I don’t know how many times I started and had to pick up again later, but it was SO worth it!
Cutting Edge Stencils contacted me and offered to send me a stencil and create something with it, then I get to give one to you too!! So I used it for this dresser that has been sitting in my garage for quite a while now (trash find) and well, I love love love how it turned out!
Let’s take a look at what it used to look like
Ugly right? It was missing a drawer, had stickers on it and well quite frankly the purple just wasn’t doing it for me!
I knew I had wanted an aqua colored table on this long wall I have by my backdoor, and I also knew I couldn’t find what I wanted in my price range so I would have to just make it myself!
I searched pinterest up and down looking for a piece I liked and I found some stuff that had certain aspects of what I wanted, but not the exact thing.
So when I was trying to figure out how to use my new stencil it hit me, this is exactly what I wanted to do! It might have taken me a while, but I did it and I am IN LOVE!
I will be posting a full tutorial soon, but I wanted to share a little bit about how awesome these stencils from Cutting Edge are!
I didn’t stencil with paint, I actually stenciled with the dark wax from Annie Sloan, which was a lot of fun!
So first I painted the whole dresser in my new favorite color!
Then I took the stencil and laid it on top of the dresser lining it up on the top edge first so I had a straight line to start out with, and once you need to move the stencil, it’s so easy, you just line up some of the stuff you have already painted and you are good to go, seriously the easiest thing ever!
Take a look at this video, it shows you how easy it is to move the stencil around!
This page also gives you some basic tips and a supply list for what you’ll need.

You like my fabric lined drawers? I’ll be having a tutorial for that soon too!
But for now, let’s talk about you winning a stencil!
