In my last post I shared that we would be celebrating Valentines with our kiddos on Valentines day, and going out with the hubs on a different night.
It was So.much.fun!
The kids LOVED it!!
…and so did I : )
First, I went to Aubrey’s valentines party at MDO… so cute to watch all those little kids go crazy over pizza and candy! Then, I did meet my wonderful husband at Ghengis Grill..which was super delicious (I so love that place)
After I picked up Aubrey we battled the grocery store for some strawberries and dipping sauce.
As much as I hate the grocery store, you would think I could remember to go BEFORE the holidays….but it never fails every SINGLE holiday, there I am. At the grocery store. Anyways.. then we headed over to my sister-in-laws for the fun stuff.
We ate, played, then whipped out the messy stuff. We lined the table with wax paper and put the strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce in the middle of the table and surrounded it with 5 chocolate hungry kiddos!. Here is a few of the pictures from our “Valentines with kids”
As you can tell, my husband liked the strawberry excitement as much as the kids! His mouth pretty much stayed like that until it was all gone. I don’t think a single strawberry dried all the way : ) All the kids said
“this is the best valentines EVER”
Priceless!
Now, amongst all the craziness I was able to make the “tuxedo” dipped strawberry…something I have always wanted to do : ) and I’m going to tell you how I did it…yay!
First, you have to wash and air dry all your strawberries (or the chocolate doesn’t stick right)
Then dip your strawberry in white chocolate, set that on some wax paper until it dries.
Once those are dry dip it on your milk chocolate at a diagonal making a triangle of white chocolate….let dry
Then you put three little drops for the buttons with your milk chocolate.
And last, just make a little bowtie…(I didn’t get to do this step…it was already gone)
Super cute, super easy!
Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture. Once I finished my tuxedo strawberry and went to get my camer.. THEY ATE IT!!!! I hid it on the counter and the little monsters found it! They were deranged of chocolate overdose
