What can I say, we love Disney Princess’ around here! Especially now that Addison’s big brother started school. She keeps saying we are having “girl days” which I am totally ok with! I mean after all, The Little Mermaid is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Disney movie! I was so excited when I heard The Little Mermaid was coming out of the vault, I literally squealed with joy…annnnnd my husband thought I was totally crazy! So when we were given the chance to go buy some Little Mermaid toys, obviously we went straight to the store!
After we bought it, I told her we couldn’t open it until we got home so I could take pictures of her first reactions… surprisingly she just held the box and waited patiently until we got home! As soon as I took her new doll out, she immediately started dancing and spinning with her. So cute!! When I was a little girl I think one of my favorite things about Ariel was that should be a mermaid and live underwater, AND she got to come out and fall in love with a prince! This toy totally let’s you recreate that during play time. As you can see in the pictures she has her mermaid fin, well.. all you have to do is pull her little skirt down all the way and it pulls the fin back in her tail, and the dress covers it up, now she is a princess! I had a hard time getting a picture of that because well… Addison says she can ONLY be a Mermaid, but I did manage to get one!
Addison hasn’t seen the movie since she was about 18 months, and I lost our DVD, so I don’t think she remembers that she falls in love with the prince and stays on land, so I can’t wait to show her that so she understands better, but for now she is just our little mermaid… the mermaid that does everything with her! Yes, she must eat snacks with Addison.
Addison wanted me to feed Ariel, so I pretending like she was real and “fake” fed her some string cheese and grapes. Addison didn’t understand why she couldn’t REALLY eat it. I love that girl… she takes everything so literally! I think she really believes all her toys are real : ) Oh, and she really is a princess! But now we take her everywhere! She watches tv with us, eats with us, and sometimes they pretend to nap together!
Yeah, it doesn’t look like real napping to me either! : ) Still cute though! After she played with her for a while, she asked for a princess tea set so we could have a tea party for her! Looks like I know what I’m doing this week : )

So sweet!! My daughter (Sophomore in college) loves Little Mermaid. She can’t wait to get the movie. When she was little, she would pretend she couldn’t speak like Ariel which was cute, but also very annoying. Such sweet memories. I hope your daughter loves it as much as mine does. Enjoy :)
haha… sometimes I wish my daughter would pretend she couldn’t talk. She asks me questions all.day.long! But I suppose I should enjoy it now because soon she won’t want to talk to her mom anymore : ( But we are super excited for the movie! I can’t wait for movie night : )
I can honestly say that both my girls still talk my ears off. They tell me everything, which is AWESOME!!
That’s so sweet! I talk to my mom all the time too! We have been having some much needed girl time with her brother in school, it is so nice to talk to her one on one, we hardly ever get that!
I can’t wait until my daughter gets into all the princesses!
It definitely is coming. It’s like a rule… little girls have to love princesses : ) I was amazed how much my daughter loved pink immediately. Its not like I’m crazy about pink… but it’s just in little girls from the get go : )
My little girl loves Princesses, too! And I have to admit, it’s fun to watch the old Disney movies I grew up on with my own kids now!
I know, it’s so sweet…I love old movies : )
Oh how incredibly sweet Ashley! My daughter definitely had a favorite Disney princess when she was little! Love that we still cuddle up on the couch and watch Disney movies now..and she is 14! ;)
Thanks Bonne! I hope we get to do that around here… I’m always up for a Disney movie!
So sweet!!!! My daughter used to love toys like that when she was little! She’s now 14! I’ll be sure to share this with my sister who has little girls! ~Christy
Thanks so much Christy!
