So if you are anything like me, you wait until the last possible second to do anything! I’m not going to lie, I never really decorate for Thanksgiving and Fall because its usually so hot here STILL (which does not put me in an orange/brown/yellow color mood) and I’m really ready to move on to the snowmen, pine scent, and hot chocolate. However, I always want to decorate for Thanksgiving at the last minute, especially since we are doing it at my house this year.
So here is a quick little centerpiece you can make using things from your last trip to the grocery store and supplies you will have lying around the house!
{What you need}
– Packaged Cranberries
-Sugar
-Glass Vases
-Burlap/Ribbon/ or whatever you have to tie around the vases
-Votive candles
——————————————–
1. Fill your vase about halfway with sugar
2. Pour in a layer of cranberries until you can set your candle on them and be happy with the height of the it. (make sure not to wash your cranberries, or if you do, let them dry completely or it will mess up your sugar) – don’t let the kiddo’s eat them either ; ) especially if you don’t wash them!
3. Place the candle and fill in around it with the remaining cranberries.
4. Tie some burlap/ribbon/etc around where the cranberries meet the sugar and tie a square knot.
Now you have a a pretty/simple/easy/cheap centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. BUT my favorite part is that these not only work for Thanksgiving, you can move them right on in to Christmas!
Hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving! Don’t forget, it is totally worth the nap to clean the kitchen later ; )

How easy and beautiful! I love using cranberries at Christmas and have a large stash of burlap I have been neglecting lately. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing at Inspiration Friday :)
So elegant and understated. I love them. Cranberries are christmas for us here in the uk anhd I will be pinning this idea for sertain later use. (my candle jars are filled with acorns and sweet chestnuts in a similar way at the moment.)
What a lovely idea! My mom does something similar in the Christmas season with plastic pearls and cranberries. I love the addition of the burlap tie. I'd be thrilled if you came and linked up to the Head to Head Showdown, going on right now at http://www.icantstopcrafting.blogspot.com
