Ok, so here lately I have been struggling with the fact that I don’t share too much about my personal life with you guys. In the beginning of this blog I really meant for it to promote my etsy business, however, life has a funny way of doing things. I have fallen in love with blogging! Don’t get me wrong, I still love me Etsy Shop, but blogging just really gives me what I need to make it through the days! So I feel like there is this wall sometimes between me and all you wonderful people out there who read all my nonsense : )
If you would have known me back in junior high or high school… you would probably laugh a little. I was the “I’m not having kids, I want to travel and live in NYC” person. But here I am with two little ones who make me smile more than anything else, with a fantastic husband, and desperately wanting to have another one (kid, not husband) : ). I am an craft making, furniture redoing, sewing, non traveling mama. I fold clothes and clean toilets (sometimes..hah!) There is no traveling here except from the kitchen to the bathroom, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
So I thought I would give you a little glimpse into my daily life. First off, let’s just say that I have severe craft A.D.D! I posted on facebook a while back that I was working on a crochet hat pattern that I would be releasing soon.. and now I’m making crowns. It will all get done… eventually : )
So here is what I was looking at today.
and this load of clothes on my bed that desperately needs to be folded

As a full time mommy, I have decided that it’s ok to have laundry on your bed, dishes in your sink, dirty clothes on the floor. I still stress about all this stuff, but every once in a while I FINISH something (like this crown) and I remember why it’s ok to not have a perfect house. Happiness is in what you do, and let’s be honest, crocheting makes me way happier than folding the clothes! : )
Have a beautiful day!!

When I was a young mom all the ladies my age would say cleaning will wait but babies don't keep. I used to think oh I've got plenty of time they'll still be little tomorrow. I blinked, no more babies. What they should of said is the house WILL always need to be cleaned no matter how old I am, so there will be plenty of time to do that, instead crochet little crown hats.

Isn't there a saying about how children grow up and laundry can wait? Personally, I really struggle with wanting to have everything done all of the time but, it's better to keep a balance and being a mommy is #1!
Ashley you speak my language girl! The crowns are absolutely adorable and much cuter than folded laundry!
Take care! Trish @ Uncommon

You are a gal after my own heart. You've got it all figured out.
I love you just the way you are! :)
I love this. I'm not a mommy yet, but I do work full time – which makes it difficult to keep our house up to the standards I would like it to be at. Dirty clothes on the bedroom floor and dirty dishes in the sink are regular occurrences. It stresses me out – but I guess I need to remember that doing things you enjoy and spending time with your family is more important than the perfect house.
Thanks, Ashley!!
I would rather dig in the dryer for clean clothes than fold and put them away. Its a pain but I do it just so I can find time for my personal hobbies and desires. I love the crown! SO CUTE!!
Love it… I put clothes on my bed too, that way I know it will get done at some point because I value my sleep! Thanks for sharing more about you, I enjoyed it!
