Guys! The weather has been fantastic lately, aka the snow has melted. Whenever the snow melts it always puts me in the mood to organize and scrub everything! Our garage is, well…. it’s not pretty! It’s detached and doesn’t have sheetrock. It’s basically a place to keep our cars out of the snow. It’s also where I build everything. But we have some drainage issues in our back yard (which hopefully has been fixed with a drain the city put in) and so everything has to be up off the ground. And when I say “has to be” I mean “should be” because everything is definitely NOT off the ground! It’s covered in the 3 projects I’m currently working on along with everything my kids could throw on the ground! So obviously it’s time for some organization.
Our garage needs a lot more work than just organization, but you have to start somewhere right? We sat down in the driveway starring into our mess of a garage and decided we needed to do something with the back wall. Everything on this wall is pretty much hanging on nails that are likely older than I am. It’s dangerous, barely works (as in things fall randomly), and just an overall giant mess. So off we went to our local Home Depot to get everything we needed for this project! Let’s take a look at what all Rubbermaid FastTrack products I will be working with!
There are so many different ways to use this system, and I’m so glad they had a little place I could test everything out on… who says you can’t have fun while getting ready to organize? I’m most excited about the ladder and bike hooks; those are some of the bigger things in our garage that don’t really have a “safe” place to hang. My kids are definitely most excited about the ball hanger (spoiler alert)! So I loaded up my basket and headed home. I actually had to stop by the other Home Depot in town because apparently I’m not the only one with garage organization on my mind ; ) The weather has been so great here and anytime that happens the hardware stores are generally wiped clean, lol!
Project organization has started and I’ve got to get to work! Here’s a little peek at what I’ll be working on…don’t be alarmed. Hopefully it will look better soon! Ps. I’m saving you from the other parts of the garage. Those would just leave you running away screaming!
Do you have any tips for garage organization?

Thanks for suggesting me this special free spider solitaire card game. I am impressed and play all time.
I love the pop of color for the door. I’m tossing the idea of doing the same. Did you also paint the other side which assume goes to the garage?Garage
