Well, it’s Sunday and I’m exhausted as usual! My kids are all messed up on nap time, a normal side effect of church! so…This is how our day went and is going…
Church.
Lunch.
Wii.
Somewhere in between the 3 crazy guys playing golf (me kicking all their butts!) and a bowl of chocolate cookie dough ice cream I decided I wanted to make a dress. I have been wanting to make one for a while because I really haven’t ever made clothes and have always wanted to. It’s Addison’s birthday next month and I am in craft overload mode. I am making so many things for her party, I have about a billion half finished projects laying around my house! And so the obvious thing for me to do would be make a dress! Duh! : ) Not to mention I’m hard headed and don’t want to follow a pattern, I want to make it myself. So I started measuring my daughter and drawing some lines and well we’ll see how it turns out. Right now it looks a bit like some ugly soft pink thick curtains with HOT pink thread… my husband thought I had lost my mind, but it’s just a test run with some random fabric I had lying around. I cut doubles in hopes that it looks good and I can use it for patterns! Who knows. I’ll post pictures soon : ) Well, if it turns out well anways.
There is defintely a pattern coming out in the etsy shop from one of Addison’s birthday accessories : ) Let’s just say its for your head but not a “headband”
Hugs girlie!! I know the feeling. Though we haven't really been church going in three years. We haven't found a new one we really like. Though, we do do sunday school at home if we don't make it.
I sewed all morning long ..go to blog and see said results. I stil need to hot glue some hair pieces.
You can can do it. Set goals for each week like this project and that project to get done.It is easier to manage your time that way.
Lol, sounds like me. I bought my first sewing/embroidery machine with only the faintest idea of how to use it. Having only sewn pieces of a quilt together in 1 quilting class I jumped into making an apron. Lol, its not pretty. Good luck on the dress!
Can't wait to see the pictures.. and someone better snap a pic of you wearin' it!
nice and good.
