Watermelons are a must at our family’s 4th of July gatherings, and today I created a tasty Salted Watermelon Slushie for you and your family to enjoy. These slushies are perfect for an outdoor gathering when the heat is on! I know some of you may be questioning the salt and watermelon combination, but any southerner knows a little salt enhances the flavor of watermelon. It is a combination that is a must try! Place 5 cups of seedless, cubed watermelon in a blender. Puree the watermelon and then add granulated sugar, kosher salt, and ice. Blend to your liking and pour into serving cups. Garnish with fresh blueberries and watermelon star skewers! Enjoy :)Print
Makes approximately 5 cups
- 5 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1–2 TBSP granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 4 cups ice
- In a blender puree the watermelon.
- Next add sugar, kosher salt, and ice.
- Blend to your liking.
- Enjoy and garnishes with fresh blueberries and star watermelon pieces.
