Shabby Chic Frame Wall

I have to say, I can’t wait for my next baby!
… meanwhile I’m still decorating Addison’s room (nursery)

Can I still call it a nursery? I still hold her all day, she still sleeps in her crib and we can’t leave the house without a blankie… I can call it a nursery right?! Ok good, cause I’m still in denial that she’s 2 anyways!

I’m in LOVE with this new frame wall in her nursery.
I don’t know what it is about a bunch of empty frames on a wall that are so appealing to me!

Her room is kind of my favorite… it is after all what started me in my crafting adventures.
I was determined to have her bedding the way I wanted it.. and that is how I taught myself to sew! If you want to check it out, you can click here. Of course we have moved twice since then… in the second house it looked like this, then we moved to Wisconsin before I could finish it!
I’d like to throw out there that I’m not really a fan of packing and unpacking!
So here we are.. in Wisconsin and are probably looking at moving within the next year (buying instead of renting)

While I was hanging these frames, I realized that frame walls are perfect for me.. they don’t have to be perfect! Because if you know me, I HATE taking the time to measure and level and all that stuff… I just want to see the finished product! Although I did put some thought into it see….

Lay out on floor

Look at all that effort I made putting them on the floor {hehe}

But I ended up switching a few things around (not necessarily on purpose now that I look at the photos, haha)

NOW if you are a little more particular or the style doesn’t make sense for imperfections then I have this handy dandy method I THOUGHT about using. I never actually hung the pictures because well… we moved. But I’m going to one day!

Ok, so here are the steps that I took to get to this
Nursery Gallery Wall

First.
Buy a ton of ugly frames at garage sales and thrift shops.

Second.
Paint them whatever color your heart desires

Third.
Lay it out on the floor until it looks like you want, and hang them up in somewhat of the same fashion using these fantastic-ly awesome picture hanging strips

Fourth.
Get some old embroidery hoops and put some fabric in them, trim off any excess. (I used nails to hang these)

Fifth.
Create something fun in one of the frames

I made these little fabric bunting. I MAY or may not have cheated a little here. That wire was already there : ) BUT good news… you can totally add a wire, or some bakers twine to yours! Then I tore some strips of fabric scraps that I have been hoarding since I made her crib bedding. Then I took my mini (adorable) clothespins and folded it over the wire, clipped the pin down and looky there! Something fun in a frame : ) : )

I love mini versions of things that are bigger… those clothespins alone make me want another newborn baby!

    How adorable! I’m loving the pastels and I always fall for anything ‘bunting’. I just recently did a gallery wall in my new living room too. They always look so amazing on an empty wall. Great post! (Came over from Create & Inspire!)

    If you have a big enough frame, you can do that wire-with-tiny-clothespins thing and clip on a pair of her outgrown NEWBORN SOCKS! Like a clothesline! I think that would be so cute!

      Aww such a sweet idea! I don’t know if I have any of her newborn socks : ( Maybe a few of her dressy pairs. I’ll have to look!

    This is such a sweet gallery wall. I love the colors you used for the frames and the sweet little bunting. I know exactly what you mean about being in baby denial. My little guy is 2 and a half and I still think of him as my little baby :)

    I’m in the process of doing up a big boy room for him at the moment, but his nursery will always have a special spot in my heart.

      Thank you so much! I really need to get my daughter in a big bed, but I’m just not ready to say she’s out of her crib yet! I wish this could stay smaller just little while longer!
