The Chapter We are In + A Sweeptstakes

As many of you know almost 2 years ago we took the plunge to move across the country. My husband is a worship leader and after working as a part time worship leader and part time real estate agent, he is now a full time worship leader here in Wisconsin! Not only are we away from family, but we are across the country from them. It gets hard at times, but we really love the area we are in and our church!

This was our first house here in Wisconsin. We moved after just 4 months of living here, so we could have a little more space, then we finally bought the house we are in now! It has been a stressful two years to say the least! One of the biggest changes we made though was with my husband’s job. We were quite used to working off commission and getting a lump sum at once, and then going a while without nothing…. it was stressful at times, and kinda fun at others. We were used to it though. It’s all we ever knew as a married couple!

Fast forward 6 years and now he is working a 40 hour a week job with vacation. Total game changer. When you don’t get “extra money” or unexpected commission checks anymore you have to think a lot further into the future. You have to figure out  what you need, what you want, and how to spend it wisely. It’s a serious thought process. We were AWFUL at budgets when we first moved here… it had just never been our way of life (budgets on commissions is not an easy task!). After sitting down and writing everything out we have been able to adjust and hopefully taking a few life steps forward!
