Every summer the kids get out of school and there is a week of bliss. Everyone is sleeping in, staying up late having movie nights, and laughing non stop. Then reality sets in. The adorable laughter and squealing kids suddenly transforms into screaming and the infamous “I’m bored”. Yes…. every mother’s dream, to listen to her kids say “I’m bored” more times than there are seconds in a minute. Sometimes during these times it’s easy to overlook simple ideas of entertainment. One of my favorite things to do in the summer when my kids are starting to get stir crazy is to heat outside and eat in the back yard. You don’t have to go buckle anyone in the car, you don’t have to pack anything up, and most importantly…. there’s nothing to forget. All you need to grab is a little Banana Boat® Sunscreen!
I love to pull out the picnic blanket and make it fun for them. Sometimes I bring everything out on a tray and really try and make it exciting. We often pretend it’s an outdoor restaurant…. it’s amazing how fun that makes it for them! As a mom I do know there are some things that have to be done even just heading out to the backyard.
