I have been promising Aubrey a superhero room since he was 4. Then we moved….3 times. So the poor little guy just hasn’t had a decorated room in almost 3 years! I am finally getting to work on his room and I am so excited to see it come together. It’s going a little slower than I’d like since I’m in the middle of redoing my kitchen as well, but it’s nice to take a break from one room and work on something else. I seriously have a hard time only working on one project at a time! But this Sauder dresser has been the perfect addition to the superhero room!
I started the room by painting his chalkboard wall, and now I have moved onto his sitting area. Because yes, he has room for a sitting area (little stinker). If you are a regular here, you know that both my older kids have HUGE rooms. Rediculously and completely unnecessarily HUGE rooms. This house was custom built and whoever did it must have liked big bedrooms. The kids certainly don’t complain. Ok, I’m digressing here. When I started working on this space I knew Aubrey needed a new dresser. He had a small one already, but he wears big boy clothes now (sniff sniff) and they just weren’t fitting in the small drawers anymore. I started searching the internet…..
My first instinct was to build one, but let’s face it… sometimes you just can’t build everything. Then I found this 4-Drawer Chest from Sauder. It was perfect for us! For his room there is a pretty good mix of modern and vintage, so this just pulled it together nicely. I also added the little chevron storage ottomans that have been great for storage!!
I ordered the dresser online and it arrived at my door extremely fast all ready for me to put together! It was literally just the click of a few buttons! My husband and I sat down together and put it up while watching TV. It was practically a date night since the kids were asleep ; ) It was super easy to assemble, and would have gone up pretty fast if we hadn’t stopped to watch tv in between each little step, but hey, you gotta stretch date nights out as long as possible with 3 little ones at home!
My absolute favorite thing about this dresser is that you can only open one drawer at a time. It’s great for kids and has really helped Aubrey to keep his clothes better organized. Plus now when I go up there all the drawers aren’t out with clothes hanging everywhere! Woo hoo!! The other great thing about this dresser is that you only need a few basic tools to put it together, nothing fancy at all!

I was genuinely surprised at the quality of this piece of furniture too. Usually when I get furniture that requires assembly the bottom of the drawers always feel like they are going to fall through, these are very sturdy and have been upheld by my son who is not exactly “easy” on his furniture.
So be sure and take a look through the Sauder Website! What is your favorite dresser??
