Spring is here in Wisconsin! At least through today, then I think we hit the 40’s again, so we have been OUTSIDE non stop. The perfect opportunity for Addison to show off her new dress!
Zig Zag Dress Pattern Tour
I was so so excited when Kate from See Kate Sew asked me to take part in this fun dress tour! Kate’s blog was probably among the first I started following. I absolutely love everything she makes! This Zig Zag dress pattern was originally revealed on the all stars round of Project Run and Play… it was love at first site! But I’m not the only one lucky enough to try out this pattern, there are several other ladies making adorable dress too… so make sure and stop by to check those out! (you can click the link on the picture, or the links below)
I have to say, I was surprised how quickly this dress worked up, and I’m not exactly a speedy garment maker!! Especially since I had to overcome my fear of buttons. I’ve used buttons before, just never in a “center of attention” kind of way. Now I’m not so sure what I was afraid of… super easy!
I did make one little mistake. Is it really handmade if there aren’t any mistakes though? It’s either that or I blame my kids, haha… while I was pleating it was the never ending “MOM… I need that, I have to potty, etc etc etc” So take your pick, hehe! : )
I missed the center pleat. I’m hoping you just can’t tell.. I didn’t realize it until it was too late :/
I know, it’s hard to get past her cuteness to see an flaws in the dress! She was so fun during this photo shoot! We live right behind a high school football field and it just happens to be track season, so there was lots of noise and she was being super silly! Love that girl!
The piping on the dress was optional, but I loved how it looked on Kate’s Dress, so I just had to use it! It really does add a fun little pop!
I was so excited I finally had a reason to use her little lace leggings! So wish I would have bought them in every color when Pick Your Plum sold them! They are adorable!
Ok, one more look just because she’s adorable, then you can go buy the pattern for your little girl, plus all the other cute patterns Kate has in her shop!! : )
