When you own a home the list of improvements and “fixes” never seem to get smaller! Luckily over the years I have managed to find some affordable ways to get around that list and today I’m going to share one of my new favorite stores with you for buying home improvement products – Floor and Decor with their rock-bottom prices and wide-variety of in-stock products! I was seriously amazed at all their budget friendly flooring options!
We are dead in the middle of finish our basement. When we bought our home we knew it was a little tight for 3 kiddos. The bedrooms are pretty small, and there’s no place for the kids to be kids without destroying my house. Initially we thought we’d wait a little while to finish the basement, but once we got all settled in we knew we’d have to move it up on our priority list. Luckily the owners we bought the house from had already put a TON of the materials in the basement (and left them here for us) with the purpose of finishing it. Our new basement will include 2 large bedrooms, a bathroom, rec room, and some unfinished storage space. It’s basically going to double the size of our home and we can’t wait to be finished!!
I had the honor of touring our local Floor & Decor Store this past week and I’m so excited to plan out our basement projects! We are almost ready to install sheetrock but all I can think about is flooring and bathroom design ideas! That is after all the fun part for me!!
As soon as I entered the store they had this map right there for me to find exactly what I needed. Since we are working on our basement, we spent quite a bit of time in their NuCore Luxury Vinyl section, but I’ll take you through their three main sections: tile, wood and stone.
Budget Friendly Flooring
In addition to the bedrooms in the basement we will also be completing a full bath, so I had quite a fun time walking through all their different options for flooring! I’m leaning towards these concrete look tiles:
They also have some really cool options likes this Patchwork Gray Porcelain Tile:
Their wood selection is absolute amazing! They offer a wide selection of Luxury Vinyl, Laminate and Hardwood to choose from, with varying brands and options from each of those categories! Like I mentioned before we will be going with Luxury Vinyl since it will be installed in our basement. This was my absolute favorite:
But since we still have so many design ideas up in the air, it’s really hard to settle on a color right now. I also really liked the Driftwood Oak.
I was also very intrigued by their Aquaguard Laminate options!
The stone… oh how gorgeous all the stone was! I might have got all hearty eyed over this Marble Carrara Hexagon Mosaic! I’m trying to figure out exactly where I will be incorporating this!
Something really unique that I really want to find a place for in our home is this Castle Gate Thin Brick Panel.
I can’t decide if I want to use it as an accent somewhere in our rec room, boys room, or our master bath. What do you think??
I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to Floor & Decor for having us, and especially to Lydia who helped us with the Free Design Services offered there. I’m pretty indecisive and she just followed me around listening to everything I said and somehow managed to organize my thoughts for me!! Even when this little guy was climbing all over everything! Luckily he’s pretty cute so he gets a way with a lot ; )
Be sure and check out your local Floor & Decor for all your wood, tile and stone needs!!
