The weather here in Utah has been up and down. It’s snowy, then it jumps up into the 40’s and 50’s, then it’s snowy again. My kids are less than amused and are quite ready for shorts weather. I actually enjoy winter. However, since we moved into our house right at the end of Fall/beginning of Winter, I have to say, I’m pretty antsy to spend our spring evenings in the backyard! The weather forecast looks promising for the next 10 days, let’s celebrate with a Spring Mantel and Modern Easter Printable. I’m teaming up with over 25 amazing ladies, hosted by the very talented Kristen from Ella Claire to bring you every style of Eater Printable you can imagine! You can download mine and take a look at the others at the bottom of the post!
These days I try not to take the holidays/seasons too seriously (in regards to home decor) in an attempt keep my sanity. A few years ago I found myself stressing over how I was going to change up my decor for summer and fall and then I realized that it doesn’t have to be all these drastic changes, and I don’t have to take time away from my family to do it. Now I’m all about simplicity. It’s kinda my motto lately.
Easter is pretty late in the year for 2017, so I wanted to be able to incorporate some subtle Eater touches that could go up now and stay up through the remainder of Spring. What better way to do that than with the beautiful scriptures from our Father? While certain scriptures are associated with certain times and seasons, they are truly timeless!
Just a little something simple and a whole lotta truth to remind us of the sacrifice our Father paid for us!
For the rest of the mantel I brought in a few spring elements, like these metal letters spelling out “bloom” in front of my wooden sugar mold filled with little sprigs of cuteness!
And I’m sure I’ll get quite the comments about how my books are facing backwards. I’ve been called everything from pretentious to cold hearted for not displaying the spines of the books. I assure you I mean no disrespect to the books or the authors. Most of these books are my grandfather’s that I love to incorporate into my home decor and display for all to see. I promise, I’m a really nice person too, not a mean book hating evil person. ; ) I like the books like this. It’s my house, and I promise not to leave rude comments about the decisions you make in your home mmmmkay?
What simple things do you do for your Spring and Easter decor? Do you change things up quite a bit or just make subtle changes like me?
And as promised you can download the free Modern Easter printable below. It can be cut to an 8×10, but you can just as easily leave it printed out on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
