I am linking my home tour up to the Holiday House Walk Link Party with Jennifer Rizzo
Good Morning all! I hope you are having a fantastic December morning! I had these intentions of showing you my full house tour, but I have been defeated by the little people in my house. Here is the reality. I have a weeks worth of dirty clothes piled up in my basement. I have another weeks worth sitting at the end of my bet that haven’t been folded. I did decorate my kitchen and dining room, but it is covered with school papers and coffee cups. Earlier this week I was able to get that whole area clean enough to photograph it. It was a miracle! It stayed like that for all of 1 day. So enjoy that shall we? Grab a cup of coffee with me!
Today I will share with you the things I did manage to decorate. I didn’t get to my living room. I have pillow cases that are literally sitting in my serger that I didn’t get to finish, but I had to call it what it is this year. I don’t want to spend all of december making sure all the little details are in place and miss out on the special memories of my children. I have come to realize I am just not in that place in my life where I can get everything done that I want to, and that is ok with me! I got done the things that were most important to me : )
2014 Christmas Home Tour
I got my Christmas tree up and decorated where my kids will sit and open their Christmas presents with huge smiles on their faces!
I have poinsettias and little fir’s in my dining room where we will wake up and eat our Christmas Breakfast…..
and I have put a few little touches in the kitchen that will be where we bake our Christmas Cookies and of course spill flour all over the floor.
I put a little wreath above the microwave complete with a candy cane heart : )
And of course my Kitchen Shelves, I left some of the things I used for my Fall Kitchen. My Owl Cookie Jar and Coffee Cups I got from the Better Homes and Gardens Live Better Line… they are just so cute I couldn’t put them up yet! I also snagged up their little deer salt and pepper shakers. They are less than $3 and seriously… adorbs!!
I always have to work in a way to use my deer basket. My mom gave this to me a few years back and it is seriously the best basket I own!
In case you couldn’t tell… we go through lots of bananas. One of the only ways I can get green veggies into my kids mouth is by making smoothies! I mask it all with banana ; ).
Right next to our kitchen is the dining room. This is definitely where everyone gathers throughout the day… I mean seriously.. it’s right next to all the food, would you expect anything different? hehe
The Christmas Tree made an appearance in the dining room this year. Adam is in that take everything off the tree and throw it phase…. since we try to keep him in the living room sometimes, I figured we could put the tree in the dining room this year. I have to say… I’m pretty fond of it in here! My dining room is still a work in progress, so I have NO clue what to put in that corner when Christmas is over. I’m thinking I”ll build a new buffet soon…. maybe a a nice upholstered chair next to it? If you have any ideas let me know ;)
When sitting at the dining room table you can get a little glimpse into our living room. The only thing I’ve really done in there though is the mantel. This is as far as I got this year and I’ll take it. I will be enjoying the rest of the season cuddling up on the couch with the kids and not stressing about a few missing decorations : )
I did add a few little things on my sewing machine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! : ) I have a few more projects left to share and some yummy recipes, so don’t be a stranger ;)
Have a beautiful day!
