The closer we get to Christmas the more more surprised I am at how quickly this time of year has snuck up on me! Today I’m here to give you a little more detail into this year’s Cozy Christmas Mantel that you saw in my Cozy Christmas Home Tour. I’m also teaming up with some of the lovely ladies fromm bHome to bring you an array of Christmas Ideas : ) And if you scroll all the way down to the bottom you can not only find out what they have created for you, but you can also find out how to enter for your chance to win a $15o Gift Card to D Lawless Hardware.
This year’s Christmas decor was all about being cozy! Surprisingly it’s actually been pretty warm here in Wisconsin compared to the last few years, but it’s still cold enough to need fuzzy blankets and soft pillows. I really wanted that coziness to not only be on the couch and chairs, but transcend into our decor so we get that cuddly feeling no matter where we are in our home.
Whenever I share our mantels with you I always try to figure out how I do it so I can kind of take you through the process, but to be honest, there is no process. It all happens randomly and usually takes me a few days. This one started off with the frames leaning on top of the piano just to get them out of the way after taking down my fall decor. I liked them up there so I went with it….. the next thing I did was try to fill the space where the wreaths are. I originally tried putting a full size wreath up there, but they just weren’t working, so the mini wreaths got to stay! After that it’s all a blur.
I can’t help but to have our pinecone garland on display somewhere and it generally ends up on the piano since they are the perfect length!
The deer head was a total last minute addition. I was going to leave it exactly how it is just minus the deer head, but I knew deep down it needed something. I had grand plans for this little guy, but I didn’t get around to it and I was honestly really enjoying his simplicity and natural brown color. The cozy christmas mantel became his new home!
The stockings are the same one I use on all my Christmas Mantels (seen here and here). You can find the tutorial for the stockings here. I should probably change them up, but I love how versatile they are! Plus it’s kind of a challenge for me now to see how I can keep them and make them look a little different!!
