I am so giddy to share my fall mantel with you today!
But real quick…did you notice the blog redesign? I hope you like it… I did it myself : ) I feel like this one is much more me!
Ok… back to the mantel. I am not a craft ahead kind of blogger, many a days I am writing the post the morning it goes up. There are a few reasons for this.
one – I am always behind and pretty much a procrastinator
two – I can’t stand waiting to post something once it’s done.
My Fall Mantel – the faux kind
So what do you think? I kinda love it. It’s my orange and aqua fall mantel. : ) : )
My favorite part by far is this wreath. Maybe because it’s awesome, or maybe because it took me like 3 weeks to finish.
Part of that because I couldn’t ever sit down for a long period of time and part of it because it was super tedious!
Oh but SO worth it now that it is hanging in my living room!
That’s not even the best part….. those leaves are not even attached to the wreath
WHAT?!?!?!?!
I know, crazy right? But just like a magician never reveals his secrets…. ok fine, bloggers do reveal theirs so here’s my little secret:
The leaves where a stem that I bought from hobby lobby. I was playing around figure how I wanted to attach it and tie it in to the fall mantel and I stuck it in one of those mason jars to hold it up. It looked perfect… my husband thought I glued them on. Pretty cool right? Want to know how I made the wreath? Check out the tutorial
Never would have guess right?
Ok, back to the mantel!
I took my super duper awesome garage sale old aqua colored mason jars and stood them up on some candle sticks I had lying around. Then I filled them with some mini pumpkins and pine cones from Wal Mart. Aren’t they just adorable?…. I really do have a problem with mini sized things, they really are just cuter!
I love love love my cheese cloth pumpkins. I dyed them myself : ) It was my first time dying fabric and I’m kinda in love with it! It really isn’t as messy or bad as you might think. I’ll be sharing my tutorial for that very soon!
I got that stem of leaves from hobby lobby 40% off. It is stunning, so if you see some, I’d grab them….just sayin ; )
I just couldn’t stop taking pictures of the wreath…guess I’m a little partial!
And of course my Fall Printable < you can get your own copy too : )
So are you feeling the orange and aqua this fall? I thought I was crazy a few weeks ago, but I have been seeing it around, makes me feel a little better!
Plus it just worked with the dresser. Now just to convince the owners of this house to paint the paneling behind it : )
Have you done your fall mantel?
Don’t forget to check out my post on fun things to do with those leaves falling in your yard!

Once the dying bug bits you there’s no turning back.

Jaime
What a GORGEOUS setup!!! I love it!! Awesome job!
What an awesome color combo! I’m always trying to find a way to integrate something new into seasonal decor. This is an unexpected touch that looks awesome! Also, it goes with what you have. Also, those leaves DO look like they glued to the wreath! I love happy accidents :)
LOVE all your colors and decor!! Super cute it is!!! :) Have a great day! xo Holly
I LOVE the color choices! I would have never thought to do orange and aqua together on a mantelpiece, but I love it! Now to convince my mom to let me move her collection of teacups so I can design her a pretty mantelpiece like this, too!
Thanks so much! I’m not even sure how I decided to go with the orange and aqua… it just kinda happened with me pulling stuff out of my closet to put on there, lol! A happy accident I suppose : ) I love changing up my “mantel” it gives my house a nice change without a whole lot of work! I’d love to see yours if you change it up!
So pretty! I love the way you mixed colors, so refreshing!
Thanks so much! I had so much fun with these colors : )

What a great mantle! I wouldn’t have thought to add aqua to my fall decor but I absolutely love it!
Thanks so much Brittany! I don’t know how it happened, lol. I was just pulling stuff out and grabbed the aqua mason jars and it just kinda happened. I wish I could say I was a genius with color, but it was really more of a happy accident ; ) Have a great night!
Ashely! Oh my goodness I am loving every bit of this! The colors are so bright, yet so fall, and your take on the ‘faux’ mantel is perfect. That wreath is SO cool, very creative and it fits the whole space perfectly. Can you tell I really love this? Pinning for sure :)
Thanks so much Taryn! You are too sweet : ) I kinda have a complete blog crush on you, so I’m pretty giddy you stopped by! : )
So, so cute! And I love the pops of aqua!
Thanks so much Allison!
Oh my! WOW!!! It’s gorgeous! Just GORGEOUS! I’m in love! Ya know, I have a weathered shutter piece and ALMOST used that but then decided I wanted to go ahead and do something crazy. I hung up a piece of fencing that was knocked down by Hurricane Ike. I LOVE it.
Thank you so much for the sweet comment, I LOVE your mantel, just saw it : ) Where do you live? I just moved from Houston to Wisconsin… I remember Hurricane Ike : )
i love this ashley! the colors are great and that wreath is awesome!
Thanks so much Cassie! I had so much fun with these colors!
Where do I find all of your projects? This is the most inspirational fall project I have ever seen….the corn, the aqua, the mason jars……..I am so inspired by your creation! I want to try something like this, but will have to improvise on the shutter. I painted barn siding (old nail heads and knotholes included) on my kitchen wall to match the wallpaper I ran out of, so I thought about using this technique on an old square piece of board. What do you think?
You are too sweet! I’m actually in the process of updating my project gallery, but you can find it at the top of my blog (above the header). Here is a link to all the tutorials on my blog: https://cherishedbliss.com/category/tutorials you will see my most recent ones at the top. It goes from newest post to oldest post : )
Wow.. what an undertaking on your kitchen wall! I would love to see that : ) I think that would be awesome on a piece of board! I’m just not very good at painting details like that… something else I do is my pallet backdrop, here is the tutorial for that: https://cherishedbliss.com/2012/04/entry-way-pallet-wood.html
Thanks again for stopping by and your sweet comment, so glad you liked the mantel : ) Have a great night!
Procratinator or not, you did a great job. I love the blue added to the fall colors. The whole thing looks amazing. Love it!
Blessings,
Debbie
Thanks so much Debbie! I had fun adding in the aqua : ) love that color!!
LOVe it!!! The orange and aqua look perfect together. And that wreath. How neat to use popcorn kernals. Adds such nice fall color and texture.
Thanks Jen! I had so much fun with that wreath. It took a while, but so totally worth it. Thanks for stopping by!

I love October pumpkins–always have, but have always struggled with the color orange. Aqua is my favorite and I never would have thought to combine them. I’m so glad you did and shared this because I actually love them together! Very pretty mantle. Nicely done.
Thanks Shannon! Aqua is my favorite too, it was all just a happy accident, but I’m so happy with it. So glad you like it : )

First, love the fall mantle and the organge and aqua together! Second, I am so glad I am not the only blogger who is a procrastinator and is doing posts the day of. I truly hope I can at least can one or two spares saved for a sick day or emergency! One day!
Thanks Kathy! Nope, you are certainly not the only one. I am usually still typing it up right before I hit publish. Sometimes I’ll get a little ahead and have a few extra projects waiting for me to hit publish, but I use those up so fast that I don’t think it really counts, lol! Thanks for stopping by : )

Thanks so much Jenn!! You are too sweet ; )
Ashley,
I love the mix of blue in your fall decor. What a brilliant idea!1
Thanks Kristy! I had so much fun with that last year. I might have to duplicate it again since I can’t seem to get unpacked to make anything new, lol!
This looks amazing, Ashley! I love everything about it!
You are so very creative even creating a faux mantel. I am so partial to the fall colors but love that touch of blue. And, I cannot imagine the patience it took to cover the wreath in the kernels of corn. Great job!
