In a previous post I told you I would be giving you a tour of the new home one room at a time… I’m a little behind schedule since I wanted to have this done before the end of the year. Not real sure what I was thinking in November, that I would have all this done by now… I must have been looking at the glass half full : ) The life of a DIYer!
Here is little miss Addi’s room. I was a little bummed because this was the ONE room I thought I had everything I needed to make it look like I wanted, but the stuff I had before just doesn’t work with the new wall space/layout. So here is her room and some plans I have…. If you want to see her room in the old house you can take a look HERE.
The thing I’m most excited about is what I am going to do with these fames!
I have wanted to do a frame wall for a while now and what a perfect little room for it!
This crib bedding is what pushed me into sewing and all this crafting! I wanted it and I couldn’t find it anywhere… so I bought a sewing machine and some fabric and I still LOVE it! It has it’s flaws, but Addison doesn’t seem to mind : )
Before I made the bedding, I figured I should probably practice on something… so I made this pillow. I didn’t want it to be a sew straight line kind of pillow… or maybe I’m just trying to forget the fact that it was a miracle I actually put that thing together because I had NO idea what I was doing! But I’m kind of impatient, so instead of perfecting my skills I just jumped right at the bedding… I like to think it worked out ok!
Sometimes, when her room is clean, it sits on this pretty little bench. I recovered the seat : ) I was one pregnant crafty person. I will never forget the days of my pregnancy where I was trying so hard to get this room together!
This is what hangs above the bench. The crochet apron is vintage…I LOVE it! It was my grandma’s… or maybe even my great grandmas. It’s so old and perfect! : )
This dresser has a story. I bought it off of a local yard sale website (kind of like craigslist). I went to pick it up and it was an elderly lady selling it. It had been in her family since the 1920’s and her daughter didn’t want it… this made me sad. It was so pretty… I don’t think I could have gotten rid of an heirloom that was so cute! I painted it and added the knobs and now it’s perfect!
I also distressed this desk that I used as a changing table when Addi was still a tiny baby : ( She’s getting so big… I wish they stayed little just a little bit longer! I wish I knew what I did to this desk.. I know there was paint, sandpaper, pink paint mixed with some kind of glaze, and a whole lot of back-work involved!
Last but not least is this little guy… I have no idea where to put it, but I love it! I used to put burp rags in it, but we don’t use those anymore (again, because my baby is getting so big!)
So now I just have to do it! I guess I’ll be on the hunt for a lot more wooden frames! What do you think? Suggestions?!
Looks GREAT! Thanks for joining my party! I joined yours, too! Glad we're bloggy friends!!!
XO, Aimee
