I don’t really go all out for Summer Decor. It’s kind of my time to be simple, and my decor doesn’t really scream a specific season. The kids are home so I try to take it slow and enjoy the moments a little more! With that said I’m teaming up with some lovely ladies again this week, hosted by Taryn from Design Dining and Diapers, and we will be sharing our Summer Mantels in this weeks tour! If you are here from Stacy Risenmay, Welcome!! I’m so happy to have you here today to take a little tour of our Simple Summer Mantel!
One of my favorite parts of summer is how everything gets so green. Here in Utah it’s kind of desert-y and in the winter everything gets very brown. But in the summer you start to see the mountain sides turn a beautiful, lush green color, and I have a secret desire to run up the side of a mountain. Although I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t make it 10 feet! haha!!
I definitely wanted to incorporate that feeling into our home for summer!
And since I have a tendency to kill things, I went some faux greenery. I found this potted piece at Homegoods and I love the green and white contrast, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
I decided to stick with the green and white throughout the mantel, and added a few wood tones because it just felt right ; )
I sure hope I’m not the only one who makes decor decisions because it “just feels right”. That is pretty much how I decorate my whole house after all. No following specific “rules”…I just start putting things in places and stare at them for a while before deciding to leave it ; )!
The books and baskets stayed from my Spring Mantel and I just changed out the pillows. These were actually on my couch, but I switched them out for summer, which I will be sharing with you soon!
Simple Summer Mantel
So there’s our simple summer mantel. Of course by now I’m sure you realized it’s not an actual mantel, but it’s the closest thing I’ve got to one and I just kinda roll with it!
Thanks so much for stopping by, next up on the tour is Jennifer from Town and Country living, and her mantel is absolutely gorgeous!! Click here (or on the picture below) to visit her home next!
Have a beautiful day friends!!
