I have been up and down, back and forth and all other kinds of directions on how I wanted to do the baby’s nursery. There are so many things I considered, but I can’t help it. I always end up going back to the whole “vintage” idea. I am so excited to finally have a house of our own where I can paint and have a place to redo furniture and I LOVE redoing vintage style furniture so that is where my though process ended, a vintage nursery.
Vintage Nursery Design Board
All you professional interior designers just shut your eyes to my design board. ; ) This is my first one and I have to say, these are quite fun to make. Like I said, I couldn’t figure out what in the world I wanted to do, so I just started saving a bunch of pictures and putting this together. I am extremely visual! I have to see things or they just don’t make sense to me. Obviously this is difficult when you are trying to plan a room, so I that is why I decided to make my first design board.
It really helped me to figure out what I was trying to envision in my head! So let’s break down the board and I’ll show you what I’m thinking. If you scroll to the bottom there is an explanation of how I plan to use each piece : )
Click the link to each of these items below to see where I found them!
Color Scheme – I knew I wanted soft colors and to incorporate greens. But aqua is my favorite color so that is going to end up in every room one way or another ; )
Crib – I already have a Jenny Lind style crib from Addison’s Room that I will be using. I just have to paint over the pink glazing I did ; )
Baskets – I’m hoping to find some of these at garage sales this summer, but if not I will probably be ordering from that site. I have known from the beginning that I want wire baskets to store diapers and other little essentials in. I might make some liners for them, haven’t decided yet.
Pouf – This one is knitted, but I’m going to try and crochet one (I’ll be sharing that pattern assuming it turns out well ; )
Fabrics – I found all these at Fabric.com. The blue one is Kaufman Essex Linen Blend Dusty Blue, the chevron is Riley Blake Chevron Medium Grey, and the oatmeal one is Medium Weight Linen Oatmeal.
Globe – I defintely want to have a globe somewhere in the nursery, and I loved this quote for a baby’s room… how appropriate!
Vintage Decor – I found this tool caddy in an etsy shop (Cushion Chicago) and it is the style I want. I want to add little pieces of decor that can double as storage, but still be really cute!
Neutral Bedding – I am loving this linen bedding from Cottage and Cabin. I poured and poured over different fabric prints and decided I wanted a neutral bedding and will probably add patterns in a quilt I will make. I will also probably crochet a blanket for the room too!
Aqua Dresser – Definitely going to have an aqua dresser of some kind. I can’t remember exactly how big the baby’s room will be in our new house, but I’d prefer to have a long dresser than the tall one so I can use it for a changing table too, but we’ll see.
So that is my inspiration. I’m sure a few things will change along the way, but this is the general idea. I also want to include some dark wood grain and maybe one of the chairs I need to reupholster that are sitting down in my basement.
I am so excited to start decorating this vintage nursery!! I should probably start working on the bedding seeming as I’m already more than halfway through my pregnancy and it gets harder and harder to sew the bigger I get. Better hurry!
Have a beautiful day!

adorable! love love this!
The use of cold-pressed nut and seed oils, such as flax seed oil, daily on salads and in any dishes that do not require heating contain the essential omega-6 fatty acids while omega-3 fatty acids are contained in fish. However to come up with a perfect health diet recipe for gluten intolerance reactions, you need to research on the internet well. They need to just be eaten as periodic goodies, or boost the palatability of additional important meals, extra virgin olive oil upon preparing salads, the scraping associated with butter upon breads, or a scattering of sugar on a few sour fresh fruits.
I’m gone to tell my little brother, that he should also pay a visit this website on regular basis to get updated from most up-to-date gossip.
Love your choices Ashley! That is going to be one adorable nursery!
Wow!!! This is EXACTLY my style! I love this for a nursery, or even my daughter’s room as she gets a little older.
I love your choices, the vintage green items and the globe especially, give it a collected-over-the-years vibe. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Wow! This is so cute! I love globes and metal baskets!! I found a tutorial one time of how to make the little metal baskets. I also love your fabric choices. I can’t wait to see this finished product;)
