Happy first day of Fall everyone! It is a beautiful day here today and I am so excited to welcome in the beautiful season!! So let’s put on some coffee, bake some pumpkin bread and take a peek into my living room. Today I am sharing with you my Rustic Fall Mantel, that I have of course…. painted white. My husband only laughed when he came home and saw all white on our piano aka my mantel. He’s just used to it now I suppose.
I wanted to have a brightness to this year’s fall decor. I will be incorporating some bright orange leaves in some of my other decor, but my living room still has tan ceilings (courtesy of the foreclosure company we bought this house from) so it often has a “gloomy” feel. Plus we don’t get great natural lighting in here from all the trees, so brightness was just necessary!
I wanted to bring some natural elements to warm the space up without taking away from the brightness, and you know that I love a good dark wood with white, so these pine cones were perfect! Not to mention free ; ) The wood shim vase I created for my spring mantel fit in perfectly. I just swapped out the yellow buds for some branches.
I saw this paper bag wreath over at Pop Sugar and just knew I needed one for my fall decor this year. The texture just makes my heart happy!!
And this season just needs a little flannel doesn’t it? I love the accent it gives the wreath, and it’s the same flannel I used on my Wooden Hexagon Wreath!
Rustic Fall Mantel Decor
This year’s fall decor turned out quite a bit different from last years, but that’s just who I am. My style changes quite often. I tend to always stay with a vintage/cottage type feel, but I pull inspiration from so many different places and it often revolves around one piece that I found.
