This 6 week deadline for the One Room Challenge sure knows how to push a person! I knew it would be tough considering we had so much work to do before the actual decorating would start, but I’m pushing through and going to make it happen! This past week I actually got all 4 bedrooms upstairs mostly painted. I’m doing a few last minute things and then I have the hallway to paint, but hopefully that will be wrapped up shortly and then we will be refinishing the floors. I’m really pushing the deadline here because the sealer needs sit for a few days before moving furniture in. But hey… let’s look on the bright side. In a few weeks all my kids will be living in their bedrooms instead of the living room. Cause that’s getting real old!

So let’s talk progress. I’ve painted the walls and haven’t started the floors. I’m writing this post on Sunday evening (yes, totally late again) and I hope to start working on the floors Tuesday. We’ll see how that works out. I’d love to have a progress update for you on time this week… but let’s face it… the goal at this point is just to finish somewhere in the vicinity of week 6!
Here’s how the pink board and batten turned out. I’m a pretty big fan considering my love of neutrals. There’s just no denying this dusty pink color for the little girl of your dreams!

White Paint Color: Behr – Swiss Coffee
If you’ve been following along on Instagram you know I’ve been sharing some behind the scenes peeks. My biggest hesitation was what color to paint the window trim. I left it white at first, but it felt very cottage-y. Which is by no means a bad thing… just not the look I was going for so I thought about painting it the same color as the board and batten. This prompted me to ask my IG followers what they thought. Leaving it white actually won the vote, but for some reason I’ve always been an underdog fan and had to go with the pink. It was my gut feeling and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I have to say it still isn’t quite what I had in my head, but I think brining in the decor will tie everything together. Hopefully!
Let’s just say every day for the next 10 days will look a little like this with desperation on my face!

I would probably visit your site on a regular basis, but since I’ve looked through your blog and instagram trying to figure out this pink color and have realized that you have failed to figure out that you’re being very rude to all of these people who have requested your paint colors. Why even post it if your not going to give the basic info out? Very rude & I’m confused why you even have a blog.
I’m sorry you feel that way. A lot of those comments I’ve replied to emails and it doesn’t always show up on the blog. I’ve also answered this question many times on my IG account. I definitely miss comments due to such high volumes and lots of spam I have to sort through. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out through email! Did you use the same paint finish on your pink door as you did on the walls? I want to paint an interior door the same shade of pink as the walls and was thinking of using the same color but in a high gloss rather than the eggshell on the walls…. room is lovely!
I did. We went with an eggshell on both I believe. I usually do our trim work in satin, but wanted to have it blend in with the wall.

The ceilings are about 8′ and the board and batten is about 58″ tall :)
I cannot believe the response on this DIY blush board and batten entrance. Late yesterday afternoon I asked what colour I should paint our 3/4 board and batten in our entrance and while lots of you said grey, black and white, the majority said blush.
In my opinion, there are two kinds of whites for painting: bright white, which is great for trim and can be used on walls or ceilings in small spaces; and warm white, which is perfect for painting walls or ceilings in larger rooms. The problem with warm whites is that they can look yellow when used for trim because they have a lot of undertones. You’ve done this project in great way and as a student, I have information technology dissertation help with me to do research for my papers and pay attention on such DIY projects.

Settle down, you’d have never seen her awesome DIY and painting job (and color) if she didn’t have this blog in the first place. So telling her she shouldn’t have a blog is, well, it comes off a bit like jealousy. You try to run a blog while taking pictures, placing content and setting it up all the while simultaneously doing the DIY that’s in this blog.
