In my home tours I talked a little bit about my simplistic approach to decor this fall. I’m not sure what it was that came over me, maybe it was the crazy summer, or the start of school, or a hernia surgery I had a few days ago, and not to mention all other life activities, but I just wanted everything to be simple this year. Fall is my favorite season and I really wanted to enjoy every moment I could.

As a blogger I’m always working ahead of schedule, and pulling out Christmas decor in September. I love it, I wouldn’t change it for the world, but I don’t need to add any extra stress to my life. So this year the theme was simplicity.

I really wanted to fill my home with fall leaves and stems from our front yard, but it has been unusually warm here this year and nothing has really turned yet. Luckily I found these beautiful stems from Hobby Lobby that look ridiculously real, and provided the look I wanted.

I’ve been searching everywhere for tobacco baskets for the last few months, and couldn’t find them anywhere. Luck me, I ran across some on Decor Steals for a fantastic price…. actually I think they have them as part of their extended steals right now! : )

So that’s it. Nothing Fancy, only 5 things sit on my mantel this year and it might just be my favorite yet!

    Love it! I have the exact same piano … with a very similar piano bench. I walked into my living room to make sure and yup … that’s it! Love your simplistic style.
