Welcome to my Fall Home Tour!! I am so excited you have stop by on this beautiful fall day! This is my very first time giving a little tour through my house, so bear with me! If you are here visiting from Thoughts from Alice, well her house is kind of hard to follow! Isn’t it absolutely stunning?? If you haven’t seen it yet, run, don’t walk over there! It.is.gorgeous! I am truly honored to have all these lovely ladies participate with me this year and I hope you enjoy touring all our homes!
If you are new here, I am so excited to have you!! Since most people who visit come through our back door in the kitchen, we’ll start there! I just finished my kitchen remodel, so I was beyond excited to decorate it for Fall!
Eclectic Cottage Fall Home Tour
I don’t put a whole lot on my counters for decoration because I am normally fighting off the dirty dishes that fill it and with 5 people in the house it stays cluttered enough ; ) I do always pull out a good candle, and I leave my butter on the counter for all that baking that happens this time of year! One of the reasons I was excited to have the empty space above my microwave and fridge is so I could add some seasonal decor without covering my counters!
I love making my Microwave Kettle Corn and Pumpkin Pie Popcorn, so I added some kernels to the mason jars above the microwave. I just love the color they bring!
There is even one on my kitchen shelves resting nicely with my little owl family!
I of course added some pumpkins! If you follow me on instagram, you saw that I am a firm believer that you can never have too many pumpkins in the Fall!
Let’s move into the dining room. This has always been my favorite place in the house (even before I redid my kitchen). It just seems to where everyone gathers and it’s a nice open space! We just scored these awesome chairs off craigslist and after going with chairs that didn’t match at all for a few months, it just makes me smile to sit in here now!
I started to do a big tablescape since I just love dining room tables decorated for fall, but my kids were literally tearing it apart before I got started. I decided that rather than fight them every single day of my life I would create a centerpiece that is beautiful and functional! If you have ever been around my kids, you will understand! ; ) Plus I’m secretly hoping they will eat it!
I tried my hand at preserving a few leaves this year in glycerin! So worth it. They turn out beautiful and it takes away the brittleness of the dry leaves. I hope they last a few seasons!
The other side of my dining room is my display of pumpkins. Cause as you know, there can’t be too many!
I have this beautiful birch tree in my backyard that is dying (we will probably end up cutting it down next year) but it leaves me with some beautiful limbs to use! So I put one of them in a glass vase to display that gorgeous bark.
The other vase is full of leaves from my front yard. Nothing like free decorations right?
And just because I love white (as we all know) I dry brushed some leaves and framed them.
As we turn to head into the living room this little corner is another one of my favorite spaces. It is my grandmother’s old sewing machine that I will just NEVER be able to part with. My daughter won’t have much of a choice, she will have to carry it with her and her family. She doesn’t know it yet, but it’s a true story!
The old wooden crate was something my dad was using in one of his old truck tool boxes… umm…. dad, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about this crate sooner!
And my blue mason jars always make an appearance during the Fall!
Now we make it into my living room. This room with probably NEVER look this good for the remainder of the season! It’s usually covered in baby toys with all the pillows and blankets on the floor. ; )
I pulled out my favorite shutters ever. I wanted a wreath on them, but I was fresh out of wreaths, so I hung this old mirror from a piece of flannel. I’m calling it a mirror wreath. I know, genius right?! lol.
The other couch is my favorite place to sit. Right under the lamp with a big warm blanket!
It also gives me a great view of my Wooden Hexagon Wreath! and that beautiful printable from Thoughts from Alice.
and of course my fall mantel that I shared with you a few weeks ago!
Whew! Are you tired from all that virtual walking? I think I need a cup of coffee now! ; ) Thank you so much for stopping by!! It was great to have you here!!

So gorgeous! I also LOVE your kitchen. That is such a great tip about the leaves and glycerin. Thank you so much for organizing a fun tour. x
Thank you Danielle! and I’m so excited you joined in with us this year!! : ) Your home is GORGEOUS!
Oh, Ashley……your kitchen and decorations just keep getting better and better. I love the decorations you used. So easy and yet so classic, very encouraging and wonderful. My mother-in-law had a cabinet just like that and she used well into the 1960’s and now our grown daughter has it. It is a keeper and the stories she told about it are just great. Is yours a treadle machine, her sewing machine was. How did you preserve your leaves with the glycerin? I haven’t done that for years and have forgotten how. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics!
Sandi! You are too sweet! I have to admit… I’m not exactly sure what a treadle machine is ; ) I can sew, but I’m self taught so the lingo is lost on me, lol! It is a great piece to have though and it remind me of my grandma! To do the leaves, I soaked them in 1 part glycerin, 2 parts water in a casserole dish, then I put another dish on top of them to keep them submerged… leave them there for 2-3 days and that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by! : )
Love your kitchen, it looks great! Perfect fall decor as well! Have a great weekend ~Sonya
Thank you SOO much Sonya! Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons! : ) Have a great week!

So very pretty!!! featuring you tomorrow!
Awww thanks Desiree!! :) :) xoxox
Did you paint the piano yourself? Love everything about it and want to do mine black also… thanks!
Hi Kelsea. I didn’t… it actually came this way. It’s a very very dark stain that looks almost black. But I would totally paint one! I’ve always wanted a yellow piano : ) But my husband is very adamant about me not painting this, lol… he doesn’t say much about all my crazy projects, but he’s a musician so I give him this one : ) Good luck on yours! I’d love to see pictures!
Your home looks gorgeous – stylish and cozy! I’m in love with the metal tiles in your kitchen!
