The last few days here in Wisconsin have been BEAUTIFUL! Temps have been in the 40’s and 50’s, the snow is melting, and it has me even more excited for Spring! What better way to welcome in this gorgeous weather than getting your Spring Mantel all decorated! I decided to go pretty simple this year because these days with 3 kids I am finding beauty in simplicity! I hope you love it as much as I do! I’ve also teamed up with some other lovely bloggers so you can get your fill of Spring Mantels this week, so be sure and check them all out at the bottom of the post!
I think sometimes my favorite projects come from me just walking around stores looking for inspiration! Every season change I have this slight fear come over me of “what am I going to do differently to my mantel” yes I know #bloggerproblems! But it’s a real thing guys! Not going to lie, every time I post something I sit here like a high school girl thinking to myself “are they going to like it?”…. so even if it’s not your favorite make a tired mama blogger feel good mmmmkay?
I made my mini wooden ladder at the beginning of the year because I knew I wanted it on my Spring Mantel somehow… I just wasn’t sure yet. The real inspiration came though as I was walking through Hobby Lobby and found these little mini galvanized letters! You might remember me telling you on instagram all to run there and snag some up for yourself! They are still there but they seem to keep flying off the shelf so you might want to hurry!
Cottage Farmhouse Spring Mantel
After I decided on the galvanized letters I was trying to think of a wreath idea and I was just drawing a blank. I literally walked around Hobby Lobby two mornings in a row trying to figure this out! I finally decided I wanted to incorporate tulips, but that was all I could think of. Then I walked past the glass vases. I thought about just putting them all in a row on the piano and BAM it hit me! I was going to use these glass vases to act as a vase. I grabbed some metal wire and knew exactly what I was going to do…. finally! It was a good thing too cause I don’t think my youngest was up for wondering aimlessly around the craft stores anymore! : )
This was actually pretty easy to make! I’ll be sharing all the details with you on how exactly I did it next week! I wanted fresh tulips, but I also wanted it to last for more than a day. I forget to water flowers in my kitchen… putting them in the living room would be like sentencing them to immediate death! And that’s why I got fake ones : )
My wood shim vase seems to make a lot of appearances in my living room. I think that might be one of my favorite decor pieces I’ve made!
So there is the Spring Mantel of 2015. Now here’s to hoping the nice weather sticks around for the rest of the year! : )
Looking for even more inspiration! Check out my friends mantels below! The tour started yesterday, so you can catch up with our lovely hosts At Home with the Barkers and Daisy Mae Belle.

LOVE! So beautiful…very “light and airy” (or that was my first impression!) Also love the rustic touches. Truly beautiful.

Can you tell me what color you painted the piano? Tia.
Ashley says
Hi Kelly, It actually came like this. It’s a very very dark stain, almost black, but unfortunately I don’t know what color it is.
