We’ve been working hard on the inside of our house. We recently finished our downstairs bathroom, my daughter’s room, painting and refinishing floors, and we are almost done with our kitchen renovation. What I haven’t shared a whole lot of though is all the work we’re doing on the exterior or our home. We recently had the entire roof and all the windows replaced. Today let’s talk about a little part of the exterior that makes a BIG impact, a new front door and our door knob from Delaney!
Black Front Door Before and After
If you’re a long time reader you might remember the before photo I shared on Instagram a few months ago, but if not here’s a little reminder of what the front door looked like when we bought it.
The exterior of our home is still currently under construction, but the front porch is mostly done. We knew we wanted to change the door frame. What was previously on there didn’t match the style of the home and it was super ornate and just didn’t feel right. We replaced the old door with this one from Home Depot and painted it in Cracked Pepper from Behr.
Once I decided on a black door I knew I wanted to go with an almost black door knob. I didn’t want it to stick out, but I wanted it to be part of the door and have this classic feel to it. I know a lot of people typically go for a contrasting door knob, but I wanted to go against the grain a little here. We decided on the Bravura 980g-2 handleset in Oil Rubbed Bronze. It’s a pretty dark oil rubbed bronze as you can see against the black door, but it’s 100% what I was looking for!
Simple Christmas Front Door
In addition to getting a peek at our front porch Delaney Hardware is celebrating the season with a “12 Doors of December” campaign. Delaney hopes to inspire homeowners to adorn their front entrances to welcome holiday guests. This festive program runs Dec. 13-24, featuring photos of beautiful entry doors with Delaney handles, decorated by 12 popular social media influencers. Be sure and check them all out on the bottom of this post!
One of the things that drew me to the Bravura 980g-2 handleset specifically was the full face plate (is that what it’s called?). I love how solid it looks and still offers the full handle vs just the knob. It feels very sophisticated and modern, yet appropriate to our homes time period. We actually have almost all of the original door knobs inside of our house and they all have a full face plate like this so it was a natural decision for me.
Front Door Before and After
Overall for our front door we completely changed the trim work, added a new light, painted our door, and installed the new door knob. Even if you aren’t redoing the whole exterior of your home, this is such a great way to bring life to the front of your house!
I can’t wait to share the whole house with you guys, but for now I just want to sit on my porch and relish in the projects we’ve completed! Plus this is the only place I’ve really decorated for Christmas!
As I mentioned, I am helping to launch Delaney’s their 12 Doors of December to help inspire you to refresh the front of your home for holiday guests! Take a peek at what the other bloggers are doing to add a little something extra to their doors!

I’ve read the post with wonderful satisfaction and also could know something new that I will use for my
additional requirements. The article is bright and clear,
without any further worthless details or else. The speech is equally brilliant and vivid, so the further I read, the
longer I do enjoy it! Besides, the information is rather cutting-edge, so like it.

Thanks for sharing your front door decoration picture.
It will help me to adorn my front door for the upcoming Christmas. The door looks beautiful. Sorry, very beautiful. I loved it so much. I also planned to replace my traditional door lock with a smart door lock.
Happy Christmas in Advance.

I wanted to upgrade the doors myself, because it was just unreal to look at the doors of my office, and I am, after all, the director of the company, I have to negotiate and so on. So I was looking for a door that was comfortable, beautiful and solid. I read here about Windows USA reviews and learned a lot about the company, and even read the description, got acquainted with the products and ordered. I am very pleased and still am. I hope it will be useful!

I don’t recommend you to upgrade your doors yourself. I once tried, and nearly emptied my wallet. Because sometimes the geometry of your house can be not so perfect. So correcting mistakes will cost you a lot.

Right! I was really surprised to know that someone might have wanted to correct his windows or doors himself. When I needed new windows, I simply called replacement windows Brantford https://thwindowsdoors.com/windows-and-doors-brantford/ just because it was much easier. I got a discount and didn’t ever have to correct anything.
