Take a tour of this Cozy Modern Scandinavian Master Bedroom with a light airy feel and high contrast decor. This post is sponsored by Article, however all opinions are 100% my own!
It’s reveal day for the One Room Challenge and I think I’ve officially designed my favorite room – our Cozy Modern Scandinavian Master Bedroom. I’ve been struggling so much lately with my “style”. I have this urge to decorate our home in a way that appeals to the people of this area since we do plan on selling, and then decorating for me. The master bedroom is a place where I feel like I can do whatever I want because ultimately it’s just white walls with decor. However, I think this is the most “me” I have accomplished in this particular house. So please enjoy our Master Bedroom Tour with Article!

When designing this space I knew balance was going to be my focus. It’s not a huge room and on one side we have two black doors and on the other is a huge window. To be honest I didn’t quite know how I was going to achieve this balance until after I got all the furniture in here.

I started off with this bed. An upholstered headboard was a must, but I wanted something either really tall or really short to not make this room feel smaller than it is. My plan was to draw the eye up with a tall headboard, or give it an airy feeling with a short one. Ultimately I ended up going the shorter route.

Storage in the Master Bedroom
For the nightstand I knew I wanted drawers for added storage. We are always running short on built in storage so I try to add it wherever I can. And typically I don’t go matchy-matchy with my furniture but I loved this set from article, but did go with a different wood finish on our dresser vs our nightstands.

Once all the furniture was in place I knew I needed to balance out the doors with curtains and went with dark gray velvet curtains.

We also needed a home office space which I shared about last week, but it is seriously proving to be an amazing solution to not having an office right now. For all the details on the desk and our office space, check out last weeks post.
High Contrast Cozy Modern Scandinavian Master Bedroom
I really went with a high contrast look so you’ll see that all over our bedroom. Pairing a black chair with the light wood desk, light lamps to our dark nightstands and black frames with our light dresser.

Our dresser I wanted to be a cozy spot that felt a little more organic to kind of tie everything together so I went with some greenery and a textured planter.

The nightstands I kept pretty simple with lamps and few decor pieces.

Here’s a few more pictures, but if you have any questions I’m happy to answer them. I’ve sourced everything for you at the bottom of the post. Hope you enjoyed this little tour of our Cozy Modern Scandinavian Master Bedroom.
