Happy New year friends! We have officially dipped our toes into 2017 and I’ve got big plans for this year. We have our new house, and I’ve got more ideas than I know what to do with! But before we get started on all my random ideas, let’s talk about what happened here at Cherished Bliss in 2016! It was a big year for us. We might have moved twice but I still managed to get a few projects out there! Most of which involved finishing our Wisconsin house at the beginning of the year.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for reading this little blog of mine! I’ve got some big ideas for this year and I wouldn’t even be able to dream these things up if it wasn’t for the constant support you give to this blog! YOU are what keeps me inspired and makes it possible for me to keep projects flowing! So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart from both my family and I! You are a true blessing to us! And don’t forget to check out some of my friends top posts of 2016. There is a whole list at the bottom of the post for you! <3
Let’s get started with #10
It’s very easy to tell yourself you can’t decorate because you don’t have enough money. We are not wealthy by any means and I’m sharing some of my top tips on how I get spaces done without spending a fortune!
#9 – Easy Laundry Room Makeover
When we first moved to Utah and were staying in my in-laws basement I desperately needed to add some storage. By adding a few things to this small laundry closet I was able to increase my storage and hide all those pesky cords!
#8 – Farmhouse Bathroom Mirror Tutorial
I did quite a few projects in our Wisconsin Bathroom at the beginning of the year, and painting/staining this Farmhouse style mirror was #8 in 2016!
#7 – How to Stain an Ikea Dresser
This was one of those projects that was super easy to do and I didn’t think anyone would even care that I did it, but I got so many questions about this dresser I finally wrote a post about it! If you need an affordable dresser, adding some personal touches to this Ikea Tarva dresser might be the answer for you!
#6 – Industrial Farmhouse Bathroom Sign
I’ll admit this one got some pretty funny comments on social media. Some people said it was gross to have it displayed in your home, but this little sign has actually helped my kids remember. So you tell me which is grosser… an adorable sign that says “Flush” or a toilet full of pee? You decide…. lol!
#5 – X Brace Farmhouse Dining Table
One of the biggest ways to save money when decorating your home is to build furniture yourself. This table probably cost me around $125ish. Compare that to stores and you just pocketed a few hundred dollars! We are actually moving this table outside and I made this modern farmhouse table for our new dining space.
These shelves are so easy to build and if you love industrial style, well then they are perfect for you!
#3 – Industrial Farmhouse Bathroom Reveal
This bathroom is probably one of my favorite room makeovers to date, and you guys seemed to love it too since it’s mostly projects from this space that made the top 10 list! This gets me super excited to tackle our current master bathroom! Come on 2017! Mama needs some extra hands and more time ; )
#2 – Accessorizing a Bathroom on a Budget
While the actual bathroom renovations can be somewhat pricey, accessorizing them doesn’t have to be! I started with pink tile, so clearly I was going to have to spend some money in there. But if your bathroom is already in decent shape and you want to make it look better, here are a few tips!
And drumroll please….
#1 – How to Frame a Bathroom Mirror
We had just a regular old bathroom mirror with no framing, no beveling, nothing. It wasn’t very pretty. With just a few 1×4’s and a couple of tools you can make the transformation of your bathroom’s dreams!
So there you have it. The top 10 posts of 2016! Now take a look through some of my favorite blogging friends top posts… it’s kinda like getting the best of pinterest all in one place ; ) ; )
