This Simple Christmas Mantel with Fresh Garland is the pefect way to create a cozy environment for the holiday season for sipping hot chocolate! This post contains affiliate links.
This year has been one of my favorites to decorate for to date! I think not being able to do much last year has really helped me appreciate making our home cozy. I’ve shared a few things so far this year like our Cozy Rustic Christmas Tree, DIY Stovetop Potpourri, an Easy Ornament, an Early Christmas Mantel, a Christmas Wreath, and Free Gift Tag Printables. But today I’m updating my Mantel now that store have some fresh greenery in stock! I hope you can find some inspiration from this Simple Christmas Mantel with Fresh Garland.

I decided to go simple with this mantel and just leave the candlesticks and let the garland shine. Also, I get so many compliments on that basket and people asking where I found it, but it was totally a God given Goodwill find. To be honest I never find anything good at thrift stores, at least not like all the people I see on IG going thrifting. Maybe it’s because I don’t go often enough. But I ran in on a whim looking for something to photograph our fireplace and ran across this beauty! Then I just simply added a White Winter Berry Wreath (similar version linked here) to the basket.

Fresh Garland on Christmas Mantel
I absolutely love Fresh Garland for Christmas. It just brings in a whole new level of cozy in my opinion. But I’ve found you can’t just string hang it on your mantel. I mean you can… but it doesn’t have that full look. Sometimes I like that more sparse vibe, but this year I wanted a full drooping garland. I started off with just a cheap garland and created the shape I wanted. Then I took my Fresh Cedar Garland and deconstructed it and stuck the branches in the cheap version.

Once I had the garland full I added some lights and Berry Stems for some depth. After everything was in place I tied some black satin bows on the corners.

Rustic Christmas Decor

Then I added some birth logs in a basket for some additional texture and a rustic element. Now we have the perfect place to cozy up to in the evenings with the candles lit.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ve joined some lovely ladies who are sharing their Christmas Mantels and Vignettes. You can also check out all my Past Christmas Posts HERE.
