I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving break. We were pretty low key. I spent all night Wednesday cooking desserts and slowly made dinner all day Thursday and it was seriously the most stress-free holiday I’ve had in a while. We watched movies and took a few naps in between all the cooking and it was just so….easy. I think we all need a little bit of that these days! But now that we have officially gotten through November we are in full blown Christmas mode. I typically try and get everything wrapped up on the blogging front so I can enjoy the holiday season with my family. I always have to do little things here and there, but I’m almost done with all my photography. Today we are talking all about our Rustic Luxe Christmas Mantel.
Can we have a moment of honesty here? I am literally running out of words to title my posts. I feel like I’m just throwing adjectives together at this point because I’ve done so many mantels. And that covers my random bit of information for today’s post ;).
Rustic Luxe Christmas Mantel Garland Tutorial
Let’s talk about the decor. I went super simple and my main focus is the garland. I share this timelapse of me putting it together on IG a few weeks (you can watch it below if you missed it). But I’ll lay it out some simple instructions for you to create this Rustic Luxe Christmas Mantel Look.
- Start with a simple base. I just use these plain ones from Hobby Lobby or Walmart. I add lights to mine, but you can get a pre-lit garland as well.
- Layer in stems. I prefer to use multiple kinds of evergreen stems (cedar, pine, etc).
- Add fresh clippings. I just grab some from my yard. You can also pick up some wherever they sell Christmas Trees.
- Add a few berry stems for a little contrast and dimension. I also included some seeded eucalyptus leaves in this particular garland.

In addition to the garland I added our stockings, a couple candlesticks, and a basket of birch limbs. Super easy. Extremely simple. Just how I like it!

I picked up these stockings at Hobby Lobby, and I believe with their 50% off sale they ended up being $5 a piece! I love the cozy vibe they add!
Winter Berry Wreath
I’ve had this wreath for years and I always get compliments on it. I don’t think they sell it anymore, but this is the closest match I can find to it.
